My dearly beloved roommate is someone who's never been very interested in anime, though I've known her for over ten years I've only recently been able to persuade her to try out a little bit. She's enjoyed some Ghibli films, and was somewhat interested when I showed her Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! but lately....

Well, I ended up telling her about a werewolf/vampire Ace Attorney fic someone recced me at some point (With the Phases of the Moon by

puddor)... now I've never played an AA game, and neither has she, but we've absorbed some general lore/dynamics/characters from passing it on the internet, enough to read and really enjoy the fic.

So after reading that, she was like "I love these guys, I wanna play the games." But games are a bit of a commitment, and we have a single gaming console in the house severely lacking in games, so I told her there was an anime for it.... and she took the bait.

We just finished the 6th episode today. We're trying to practice some restraint and not binge it all at once, but we watched four episodes yesterday and two today. We're loving the ridiculousness of a lot of the plots, and especially the courtroom action (lots of screaming witnesses!). We also watch the theme song every single time. We can't get over the imagery of Phoenix and Edgeworth on the beach with their suits on, chained together by a golden chain!

Still lots more to learn. We know SORT OF some things from the fanfic(s) we've read and what we've passed by on Tumblr, but there's still things up in the air and we don't know exactly how it'll all play out... I'm mostly pleased that my roommate is taking a chance with some anime, as she has been quite hesitant in the past! Nice to enjoy together.
