YouTuber read WHAT?

jajalalaHad a mini heart-attack the other day from someone commenting on one of my fics "i came here from 'coleydoesthings''s youtube video and i'm not disappointed in the slightest" and I was like "????"
Bc number one: I happen to have watched coleydoesthings, not at all recently but a year or two ago I think I watched through a lot of her skits, which tend to be fun meme-y fandom/fic videos... So I was like "wait what the FUCK do u mean a YouTuber I recognize mentioned this fic?"
BUT ALSO NUMBER TWO IT WAS MY RIDICULOUS SMUT OF A SENTIENT WASHING MACHINE X GUY WHO CONTROLS FABRIC (Wash/Jeanist from BNHA) which I'm like "Oh god what the hell did she say about it??"
Well I went onto her channel and encountered a video called reading extremely cursed πΌπΉπ²π¬π fanfiction which made a little more sense as to why that fic in particular was apparently mentioned... but also did scare me still bc I wasn't sure what exactly the vibe was, like if it was for funsies or spice or to make fun of it?? like the fic is definitely crack and meant to be humorous but I also wrote it with sincerity in my heart.
After panicking I did sit down to watch at least part of the video, turned out to be a challenge where she tried to read absurd spicy fanfics out loud, and if she laughed/reacted in any way she had to eat something spicy as punishment! So being a lil silly but thankfully not mean-spirited/mocking (she successfully got through my fic without laughing anyway XD. It's Fic #9 at 19:22 if u want to see for urself).
Anyways I still find the feeling of someone showing their real human face real human voice and saying the words that I've written down incredibly embarrassing and flustering and makes me want to run away and curl up into a ball and bury myself in the ground. In a good way! But also overwhelming! (and in this case, a lil starstruck!) One of the things I like most about AO3, and certain social medias is a bit of distance, u can exist and interact with others with a bit of a buffer which I find more manageable when writing fics that tend to carve out little bits of myself (even washing machine smut, lol). On the very very rare occasion that I've allowed IRL friends to read my writing I specifically tell them NOT to read it while I am in the room bc seeing their live reactions in real time is a LOT. Eek eek eek.
It was fun to see a YouTuber read one of my fics tho! I don't think there was a huge influx to the fic as a result outside of one or two comments (it was part of a long challenge video with many other fics so not really a recommendation or necessarily telling ppl to check it out), but now that I've calmed down I think it's an absolute delight and I feel honored that she took some time to read through the fic. Also I'm thankful to commenters who say how they ended up there, it's always interesting to see how someone learned about a fic and to sort of see "in the wild" when it shows up!
