Break Up (mutual)

jajalalaIn probably the best outcome I could have hoped for, had a nice short date with the boytoy today and had an easy, clean mutual break up :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
I know I said I was going to attempt to do proper communication (aka having hard conversations about what I want out of the relationship etc) with him to develop my personal skills before breaking up, but honestly I wasn't really feeling the vibe anymore and I kind of dragged my feet like "...I don't really want to see him I'd rather stay home and play video games or something"... So I decided that instead of dragging on something I wasn't really invested in anymore, meeting in person and initiating the awkward conversation of breaking up counts as me developing and practicing those hard conversation skills.
I had somewhat of a feeling as our texts had been faltering pretty hard recently that maybe he was also losing interest.... so we went out for gelato (a nice and fairly quick meal), and once we ate it I turned to him like "So we've been dating for several months, but I just want to discuss directions, because to be honest I don't see us going anywhere long term..."
And fortunately he was like "Thank goodness, I was hoping to bring this up too" XD. As it turned out he also was losing interest, so we kinda had a few more minutes of like, being relieved (and me checking in like "I know u originally brought me to the swingdancing thing in the area, I might still attend on occasion" and he was like "Yeah of course that's fine" so that's a good thing, I need to drag my friends out there), and then we parted ways. The whole thing (including eating) was probably less than half an hour long, and pretty painless.
It was a big relief, hard conversations like that scare me and I was nervous going into it, but once it was over (very smoothly without having to disappoint/hurt someone), I was practically skipping home in joy XD.
Anyways, back to the single life.... I will probably get back on the dating apps sooner or later, but gonna chillax for a bit. I still want to lure my friends out swing dancing so we can all meet ppl there in a more casual/relaxed way, but who knows what will happen? At the very least I feel very relieved and free now <3.
