Trip went fine, did not die
Jun. 25th, 2022 08:42 pmI'm back from my business trip alive and in one piece... was somewhat stressful, but less stressful than the previous trip.
Once again though flights got complicated around the time we were trying to fly back home... the very last leg of our flight got suddenly delayed for two hours. At least the airline didn't abruptly cancel and then try to send me to Oregon instead of Boston (Fuck you Alaska Airlines), so overall not as bad as last time.
The actual work stuff though... my coworker and I did our best. I think we didn't do perfect, and actually we have to still do some more finishing work in the upcoming week, but at least nothing exploded. It was cool to be in a state I'd never been in before, probably the furthest south I've ever been in my life. The cuisine sounded very cool and interesting... but it was almost entirely meat/seafood, which unfortunately my vegetarian palette could not quite appreciate. I did get a real southern sweet iced tea though! I can see why people love 'em so much... Somehow after having it, the heat and humidity suddenly felt bearable.
Now I'm settled back home, and hopefully will not have to travel for the next long while... I've volunteered for another trip in the future, but that won't be at least until the fall. So hopefully I can stay cozy at home for awhile
