I Have Gotten On A Dating App.

I vowed to myself I would get on a dating app by the end of March. Well, it's a few months late, but better late than never! Ended up going with Hinge, as a lot of my friends have recommended it as being the app that has garnered the most success (though the success seems to be long-term relationship type, which like... I might be into, but I might want to shop around a bit... we'll see what happens).

Set to all genders at first, which ended up being overwhelming as there are a lot of men in the city who like women, so inundated with likes. And those I matched with were very responsive in communication. Eventually I changed my settings to women and nonbinary just to get some balance, but those conversations have been slower.

It's been both fun and overwhelming to be texting so many strangers; I think I need to practice some more restraint...

But now I have two dates this weekend!

Saturday afternoon date at a nearby bakery with Z. Funny story, turns out he works at the same company as one of my dear friends in the area! She has barely actually interacted with him, but it's a funny connection. Plus he used to go to college at my previous workplace, so many coincidences! Overall though he's funny and sweet, his profile had really peaceful and gentle vibes... we shall see how that translates in-person.

Sunday morning date at a bakery a lil while away with J. We have a lot of tastes/hobbies in common, and have been chatting a bunch every day through text (def have talked to him the most out of anyone). Plus some really solid strong communication skills demonstrated

Wish me luck as I bravely venture forth into romance! It's my first time dating in several years, and my first time actually going through a dating app (and dating as like, an adult-adult rather than a high school or college student). Aaaack I'm nervous but trying to stay hype!
